The UBAGroup; Africa’s Global Bank recently held a Tradefair for its online SME market platform, the UBA MarketPlace. The UBA Marketplace Fair 2019, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of July 2019 had 120 exhibitors with their goods on display. Habeebat Fashion Store was among these exhibitors and here’s an account of the event as put together by our team.
While the UBA Marketplace Fair 2019 had vendors showcasing items ranging from Fashion, Beauty, Food, and Home, the Tony Elemelu Foundation (TEF) Forum 2019 held simultaneously at the Transcorp Hilton at both days.
The UBA Marketplace Fair 2019 held in Abuja was a testament to how organized and orderly the residents of Abuja are. Even in the games section, participants took turns to play different games without altercations. The kids weren’t left out as the fair held a kids arena where parents had the opportunity to leave their kids to have fun while they checked our stalls.
Thanks to the organizers who took no chance in providing everyone with utmost security. The Kids arena was adequately guarded by armed men. All these and even more distinguished the UBA Marketplace Fair as a reputable one.
Considering Friday 26th was a weekday, activities did not peak until closing hours with many attendees coming around from their workplaces.
Day 2, Saturday began again with more participants visiting the exhibition, and both the TEF Entrepreneurship Forum and the UBA Marketplace Fair coming to a close. Many families came out to cheerily have fun. And dignitaries who were a part of the TEF Entrepreneurship Forum also paid a visit to the Marketplace.
His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State was notable among dignitaries who stopped by at Habeebat Store stand to try out our Black Oud and Sultan Oud Perfume oils.
The event wrapped up with a celebrity concert with performances from Niniola, Whizkid, DJ Cuppy and DJ Neptune thrilling the crowd till nightfall.
The UBA Marketplace Fair was indeed a groundbreaking event in the SME industry in Africa as it further announced to the world the vast potential and resources available to Africa in terms of Fashion Beauty, Food and the Home.
