We have always anticipated, and now Ramadan is less than 3 weeks. Whoop!!! I am so excited and I’m sure you are as excited as I am.

It is no news that Ramadan is a month of mercy and we all are always looking forward to this blessed month. Ramadan holds for 29 to 30 days, and we all like to attain the state of purity at the end of this month.

Ramadan is the 8th month of the Islamic calendar, and Being the 4th pillar of Islam, this makes it an obligatory act on all believers. Allah says in (Q 2;183) that Oh you who believe, Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you , that you may learn piety and righteousness.

Fasting in the month of Ramadan is quite tedious for a number of people because this month requires a lot of change from us; change in our daily routine, change in our feeding habits, change in our sleeping habits, change in our devotion to Islam and lots more.

In other to have a stress-free Ramadan, we need to manage this changes. Managing this changes requires us to prepare ahead of this blessed month.

HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR RAMADAN?

Below, are few tips that would help you prepare for this blessed month;

  1. Pay up all outstanding Fast: This point relates especially to female, though some males are also not left out. If you miss out some days in the previous Ramadan, you should not welcome the next Ramadan without paying up.

2. Create a Countdown to Ramadan: Whether it’s a physical or online calendar. Counting down to Ramadan will help prepare your spiritual mood and also to confirm how you anticipate towards the month.

3. Gain More knowledge about Ramadan: There are lots of teachings in the holy book about this month. You can gain access to majority of them over the internet. Make some research so that you would have an in-depth knowledge on how you will be taking full advantage of this blessed month.

It might sound much easier said than done but once you’ve committed yourself, purified your intentions, make sincere Duas for guidance. These bad habits will be easier done with than you ever expected.
